September 20th 2025 demo/workshop artist - Karen Lloyd

Karen Lloyd is an acrylic artist living in The Colony, Texas. In addition to acrylics, she loves to dabble in watercolor, mixed media, paper crafts, and whatever comes along and strikes her fancy.

Portraits and negative painting particularly attract her interest. Karen is fascinated by the lights, shadows, planes and angles of the face and she delights in trying to find subjects that seem to jump out of the abstract backgrounds that start her negative paintings.

Karen will be demonstrating the negative painting technique in acrylics. It is a method where by you paint AROUND the subject rather than paint the subject directly.

We meet third Saturday of the month at 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Josey Ranch Public Library. Non members are encouraged to attend monthly meeting however we ask that after your first meeting you join FBCAA to continue your participation in the organization.
